Make Yourself Heard
Princ shares some tips for ensuring next year brings you exactly what you want
Hey guys! Tree Time is here! Did you know? I’m honestly still baffled by this hooman tradition - who would have thought of bringing a whole tree home?! I mean, I personally think it’s a brilliant idea, but the point is, if we asked for it, they would never do it… cause it’s a bit crazy, they’d say. One can’t have trees at home. Well… and what about the Tree Time, then?
That’s suddenly somehow compeletely fine - even to put all sorts of things on it and treat it like a God.
But I’m not complaining! Especially since it provides so much opportunity for play and personal growth with all these shiny dangling things on it.
Aragorn used to sit before the tree, completely mesmerized by it, unsure if he could touch any of it. Then he would pick one of the baubbles and start to play with it only to be stopped by the terrified hoomans. You see, hoomans have this very strange trait - they prefer looking at things instead of seeing their full potential and enjyoing themselves.
Anyway, why am I telling you all this. You see, I used to use the Tree to get what I wanted and it was a tool like none other. If I wanted something and felt like I’m not getting the attention I wanted, or the lunch time was not being served and no one seemed to be doing anything about it - not even Aragorn - or I was unhappy for whatever reason, I had to take matters into my own paws.
Which meant, I’d go to the tree and start to play with any of the decorations. I would either try and take down one of the garlands or one of the many baubbles or funny figurines. It depended on how much I was being ignored and how far I needed the message to travel.
So for example, if my hooman was in the same room, a decoration would suffice. Once I started touching it and trying to take it down, my hooman would get up and stop me. Then she would sit down again and carry on with whatever she was doing. So naturally, I would carry on too.
We would go like this for some time and to be fair, this was great fun too, I didn’t really need more, but for some reason, my hooman never enjoyed the constant getting up… I don’t see why, but again, hoomans just don’t know how to have fun.
Then, when she would have enough, she finally decided to feed me and see if it could solve the problem. Unsurprisingly, it did and I could finally happily go back to sleep.
If she was in the other room though, I would have to try harder, and that meant the garland would be the target. While trying to take it down, the garland would usually take down other ornaments with it and thus creating this clinking sound which was apparently impossible to miss even for the ears of a hooman. So yeah, she was with me before you can say a ‘cat’
And this is what you need to do in your life too. You have to be as loud as the situation requires.
And I don’t necessarily mean shouting like hoomans do. No, no, no. But be loud in a smart way - a cat way.
If you desire something, if you’re unhappy with current state of things or you want some change, or even some help - you must make yourself heard.
Whether you’re trying to catch attention of other hoomans or the Universe itself (sone call it the Big Cat) you must make sure you can be heard.
If you keep quiet and keep things to yourself always, you will never achieve any change.
Just like you need to let your disatisfaction be known to prevent further conflicts and ensure happy relationships, you must let your desires be known too. You see, no one can read your mind though you tend to hope they would.
So, next time you’re unhappy about something, do something about it and make yourself heard. Remember, this is not to encourage conflicts, but rather the opposite. It leads to a much happier life. Even if you might annoy a hooman or two along the way. That’s just life.
Trust the cat.
Now go and enjoy the Tree Time!

Lunchtime wasn’t being served and not even Aragorn did something about it? Preposterous 🙀
